Hola a todos, lo siento, no he estado actualizando durante estas últimas dos semanas, volví a la escuela y tome tiempo para reorganizar mi horario. Con mi regreso a la escuela, he comenzado a ver un poco de normalidad volver a mi vida cotidiana y, con suerte, muchas personas alrededor de los EE.UU. y el mundo han comenzado a sentir esto también. Aunque estamos viendo algún retorno a la normalidad, el coronavirus todavía ha tenido efectos irreparables en los empleados, las empresas, las pequeñas empresas, etc. Para abordar estas cuestiones, el Presidente Biden y los demócratas están tratando de ayudar a los estadounidenses.
¿De qué manera se presenta esta ayuda? Bueno, viene en la forma del Plan de Rescate Americano. Este paquete de ayuda para el coronavirus de $1,9 billones dará lugar a que los estados y las localidades de todo el país estén mejor armados para proporcionar ayuda y asistencia a los hogares vulnerables que se han visto gravemente afectados por la pandemia mundial. Este programa no creará dinero, pero permitirá una distribución equitativa del dinero de manera rápida, eficiente y justa desde las instituciones existentes.
Debido a que este plan es polifacético, quiero hablar de los que creo ser los más beneficiosos.
En primer lugar, cómo se trata de un plan para abordar la compensación por desempleo. El Plan de Rescate Americano renuncia a los impuestos federales sobre la renta de los primeros $10.200 beneficios de desempleo recibidos en 2020 por contribuyentes de ingresos medios y bajos. "Esta ley proporcionará alivio tributario a los estadounidenses que perdieron sus empleos y utilizaron beneficios de desempleo el año pasado, permitiendo que millones de trabajadores enfoquen sus beneficios en cubrir los esenciales durante la pandemia de COVID-19" (EE.UU Departamento del Tesoro).
Otros aspectos de este proyecto de ley incluyen asistencia financiera para restaurantes y bares independientes. Aunque muchos de nosotros hemos estado apoyando nuestros restaurantes locales favoritos, este plan les ayudará aún más. Este proyecto de ley también ayudará en los pagos de alquiler e hipoteca.
Personalmente, una de las partes más interesantes de este proyecto de ley de alivio es lo que puede hacer por los estudiantes universitarios y los antiguos alumnos. La congresista Alejandría Ocasio-Cortez también habló de esto. Si bien no hay cancelación de préstamos para estudiantes, explicó que hay una disposición que ella llamó un "huevo de Pascua". Los estudiantes universitarios van a recibir pagos de estímulo que no recibieron en 2020, pero también hay una disposición fiscal adicional que dicta que "si" los préstamos estudiantiles se cancelan en el futuro, no es necesario pagar impuestos sobre la cancelación. Si bien no hay nada solidificado, este es un paso positivo en la dirección de aliviar la deuda universitaria.
Aunque hay mucho que hacer en el ámbito del alivio para los estadounidenses que han sido gravemente afectados por el coronavirus, este paquete de cuidados demuestra la asistencia extrema del gobierno federal, algo que podemos esperar ver más en el futuro.
