Uno de los conflictos más grandes a la vanguardia de las relaciones internacionales es el conflicto palestino-israelí. Aunque este conflicto no es nuevo, recientemente las complejidades de este conflicto han dado forma a las noticias y han llamado la atención sobre la historia y las motivaciones del conflicto. Durante la Primera Guerra Mundial, Gran Bretaña hizo dos promesas de separar a grupos de personas: La Declaración Balfour y las Cartas Husayn-McMahon. Ahora, esta injerencia occidental en los asuntos de las naciones del Oriente Medio ha salido de control. En 1948, después de que expirara el control del mandato británico sobre el territorio prometido, Israel declaró la independencia y la Guerra de los Seis Días. Israel fue victorioso, y desde entonces han continuado varias guerras entre el Estado judío y sus vecinos árabes. En el pasado se han hecho algunos progresos, pero ninguna de estas medidas sustanciales se ha aplicado plenamente.
